Things I Love Thursday | Green Things

These random 40-degree days and heavy storms have gotten a rumbling going.

It’s almost I feel like the roots stirring underground, and the seeds quaking with waking seedling tendrils inside.

I can’t wait for spring. I’m going to run around the newly budding forests and take as many pictures as my wee camera will hold.

Style Search | Snow Day

Tuesday was a wonderful day. School was cancelled for the hubby bear, and my boss called me when I was about to walk out the door to tell me that I didn’t need to brave the snow for my 30-mile commute down to the city. Huzzah!

Style Search | Snow Day

Funny, because this is one of the only days I was all dressed up pretty for work. That is because, as I promised Kaylah (otherwise known as The Dainty Squid) in my Blog Crushes & Resolutions post on Monday, I totally managed to get out for a photo shoot this morning! And I even had Papa Bear to help! Best of all, we managed to capture the pure essence of both the Clear Winter and Cool Winter seasons in these photos.

365 Photo Challenge | Day 61 | Whimsical

Day 61 - Whimsical

Day 61 of the 365 photo challenge is “Whimsical.” Yes, you may recognize that rainbow as the dress from our engagement photos! It is by far the most whimsical thing that I own. Unfortunately, it came out a bit blurry. I think I may have to recreate this one for a new profile photo for everything. Because my best colors are ALL OF THEM TOGETHER.

If you have not yet read my post about the 6 main characteristics of the 12 Season Color Analysis System, go check it out now! Keep reading to find out if you are a Winter, nail down your dominant coloring characteristic, and find out what to wear to look your very best.

Winter Color Palette

Winter is the time when color drains away from the landscape. Crystalline ice forms around the edges of frosted window panes, and the world falls into a pale white stillness.

The green earth quietly slips away under a soft, cold, colorless blanket, occasionally broken by deep pine green, vibrant berry red, or sparkling crystal blue.

Shadows fall long and deep across unbroken white snow, and the quickly ebbing light paints the cold clear sky with icy pale hues.

That is the essence of the Winter color palette.

Rainbow Your World | Autumn Color Palette

To celebrate the end of Autumn, let’s talk about the three different flavors of the Autumn color palette: Warm Autumn, Deep Autumn and Soft Autumn.

A few months ago, I wrote a post about the 6 main characteristics of the 12 Season Color Analysis System, and based on the amount of traffic and response I have seen to that post, I wanted to elaborate a little more on each season.

Keep reading to find out if you are an Autumn, nail down your dominant coloring characteristic, and find out what to wear to look your very best.

Autumn is the time when the days get shorter, the light gets low, and nature is set ablaze. Long, deep shadows fall across richly textured fallen leaves while warm, rich colors light the trees above.

That is the essence of the Autumn color palette.
