Blog Spring Cleaning and Birthdays

My 29th birthday is coming up in two days. I had almost forgotten. 29 is not exactly a banner year. Next year perhaps I will do something grand, but this year Papa Bear and I may just go out to dinner.

Natalie's 1st Birthday

I feel about my 29th birthday the way I seem to have felt about my 1st. Meh.

The clock rolling over has gotten me thinking, what do I want to do with this next year? Well, I will be done with school and working full time again (both at the barbershop and on the blog) in June, leetle seester will be getting married in July, I will be getting married in August, Baby Bear will be getting a little brother or sister (not from me!) in November, and I will be doing my best to grow this blog to a point where Papa Bear and I can give her another one and I can take some maternity leave when that happens.

Hopefully there will be a honeymoon in there somewhere. There is a bit more to The Master Plan, but this blog is here for the long haul, partly because I absolutely love doing this and connecting with all of these people that are just as strange as I am, and partly because I know that this is the way I can be most useful and fulfilled in my life. This is it.

Where do we go from here?

Now that Leave Me to My Projects has been rolling for 5 whole months, I want to ask you, the wonderful people I have been getting to know through this blog, what have you enjoyed so far? What have you wanting to hear more about? What are you interested in?

I have had a bit of blog OCD. I love so very many things in life, and although I have sectioned them into all of these neat little categories, it may be some time and a couple of season changes before all of them get filled out sufficiently. In the meantime, I feel like I need to do some blog spring cleaning.

Clean All the Things!

Thank you Allie Brosh. You get me.

So come on community, help me shape this blog! I want to hear what you want. Down in the comments section tell me what you think about the features here on the blog: “keep it”, “lose it” or “get your butt in gear and get writing, I want more of this!”

I have also been feeling conflicted about the Daily Inspiration segment. Am I wasting space, or do those posts inspire you?

Daily Inspiration

I just want to take a moment here to thank you all so much for coming on this journey with me. When I started this blog, I never dreamed anyone but Papa Bear and my mother would read my little ol’ blog. As it turns out, they seem to both be too “busy” to read it (hey, I’m the one writing the thing!) Now, as a test, let’s see if they comment on this post.

To my surprise,  even though my nearest and dearest aren’t reading, it seems that plenty of strangers that are now becoming friends have found their way to this island of misfits and oddballs. Thank you so very much for reading, thank you for commenting and thank you for sharing your stories, your projects and your dreams with me.

So speak your mind! Tell me what you think I should keep, what to toss and what to give you more of, all in the comments section down below. If you haven’t officially joined the Project Community, what are you waiting for? Go join now!

The first thing I noticed about your blog was the vibe. Something about your writing style made me feel like we skipped over that awkward stranger banter and were more on a bff convo level. Your honesty and candidness inspires your readers (well at least me anyway) to be the same. You rant and ask questions as if we’re sitting face to face. It feels intimate, personal and friendly. I guess what I’m getting at is if what you are writing about is something you care about, that passion comes through in your words and can inspire others to care about it too. I personally love the diversity of your posts. Just keep it real and authentic and I’ll keep reading.

Happy (belated) golden birthday! Enjoy your last year in your 20s 🙂
