I’m very excited about today.
You see, I’m hoping to make this whole blogging thing a regular thing. As in, a serious endeavor, for which I make schedules and do really fun stuff in Google Analytics. I will be geeking right out.
For the past few days I have been working on some of the behind the scenes activities, such as getting my RSS feed working, and undertaking a challenge from ProBlogger.net. It is the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog challenge, and while I absolutely will not be completing it in 31 days, I am going to go step by step to make this blog more focused, more organized and more useful to all of you guys.
Day 1 of the challenge involves Writing an Elevator Pitch. Yeah, I didn’t know what that was either:
“An elevator pitch is an overview of an idea for a product, service, or project. The name reflects the fact that an elevator pitch can be delivered in the time span of an elevator ride (for example, thirty seconds, or 100–150
Essentially, it is something I need to have prepared when someone asks me what my blog is about. I know what it is about, but not having specific wording ready usually left me mumbling something like “um…crafts and food and…projects and stuff…” There are these times when I can be clever and witty and funny and ON, but more often than not I’m an awkward nervous mess when I have to come up with something off the top of my head.
This is why I want to be a writer, not a public speaker.
